Wicked Photo's David! Very jealous of your past years experiences!
Did Pat tell me you and Jutta are coming our way to NZ? Or did I just make that up with an overactive imagination?
Anyway - hope all is well, as we enter winter over here - a shock to the system, with fires blazing.
Have fun - keep in touch

: Guten Morgen wa Sabah alkhair to everybody,
: Finally I am back in Berlin after more than half a year of Africa. Well actually it has been already more than two weeks since I touched ground in Germany, but it took me a while to get acclimatized, buy back my technical equipment which I sold in Sudan, heat up my flat, straighten out my schedule at university … and realize that I am back in the end.
: Sudan was a great experience. After somewhat a cultural shock in the beginning it have been the friendly, relaxed and open minded people all over Sudan and the great working conditions at the Geological Research Authority which made me feel at home. Khartoum is not much like a capital, at least after having experienced Cairo, but once you make friends, once you get to taste the great grapefruit juices and coffee around in the market and you take a swim in the Nile, you feel sad leaving everything behind.
: Of course Khartoum was not everything. I participated in a couple of archeological and geological expeditions into the Western Desert and the Red Sea Hills and from that I can say "Sudanese landscape beats all I have seen so far".
: Do I have to prove it? I updated my gallery, I know, more than overdue … but the last weeks in Sudan have been one of the busiest in my life so far.
: Anyway, to close a chapter and step back into Europe let me share my favorite photos with you:

: I still live in my previous flat in Wedding, but something had to change J new mobile and telephone #s!
: Hope to hear from you and especially see you as soon as possible. And thank you for the postcards!!! (What surprise – they really made me feel at home in my hotel)

: So long and good night wa tisbah 'ala khair
